We had collected warm clothing and shoes for the children as the cold winter months approach. It was raining hard when we arrived and the Foundation Phase class of 30 children had depleted to 13 because many of the children were unable to get to school in the bad weather. We were able to see that our contribution of warm clothes would be much appreciated.
The Grade 7s had made board games for the Foundation Phase children during their Afrikaans lessons at school prior to the visit. They played these with the children and then gave each child a party pack.
It was a humbling and rewarding experience. We will continue supporting the school in any way we can.
