Care Packs

The survivors of crime who are brought to the trauma centre at the Rondebosch Police Station are presented with Care Packs put together by some of our grade 6 and 7 girls under the guidance of Hanna-Rose Smith. This project was started a few years ago by Hanna-Rose Smith, an Oakhurst pupil at the time. She has subsequently won a number of awards for this project and would like to keep the Oakhurst girls involved. The girls pack items such as soap, face cloths, underwear etc into these boxes and they include a note for the recipient. The sustainability of the project depends largely on sponsorship and donations. Please contact us if you are able to sponsor or donate any of the items packed in these boxes.

Oakhurst EK Primary

Oakhurst would like to make a contribution towards touching the lives of people less fortunate than themselves. The Oakhurst EK Primary School outside George welcomes the support of our school community and any contributions would be much appreciated.

Oakhurst EK Primary turned 136 years old in 2007 and boasts the proud tradition of generations having attended the school (parents, grandparents, great-grandparents) Most learners come from the surrounding farms in the Hoekwil/Wilderness areas, where their parents work.

This is an Afrikaans, co-ed, multi-grade junior school, which has recently been given “no-school-fees” status.

Excerpt from recent e-mail from the principal

Groete
Steven
